Position: Studio Assistant

We're looking for a Studio Assistant to help keep The Seattle Knitting Lab running smoothly while supporting members during Open Studio hours. No machine knitting experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know. If you're excited to learn something new and be part of a growing studio, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently opening the studio for Open Studio hours.

• Assisting members with knitting machine issues such as jams, broken needles, and basic troubleshooting. (Learning how to resolve functional machine issues will be part of the job training.)

• Keeping studio materials organized.

• Occasional knitting machine maintenance.

• Occasional assistance with social media content.

Qualifications

• Interest in learning to machine knit (previous experience not required, but a plus).

• Able to patiently assist members with questions and issues.

• Attentive to detail.

• Background in fiber arts is a plus.

Schedule

• 2:00–8:00 p.m. on Saturdays or Sundays beginning in September. (The specific weekend day is negotiable based on the applicant's availability.)

Compensation & Benefits

• $22.00 per hour.

• Occasional complimentary classes at the studio.

• Independent access to studio equipment for practice and learning.
